  Dark On Light Color Schemes

Dark on light is the most widely used colour scheme you will see for business designs.

Dark on light is usually a white or very light coloured background and dark coloured text utilised along with other choice colours throughout the site, designed to specifically highlight certain areas of your website.

This technique is something you will commonly see in a wide variety of websites, and one we use frequently in our designs. One example would be that of the Spanish Property Team’s website, which we designed with a white background and blue colours to add an element of energy to the website.

Many web designers will use dark on light colours, it’s familiar and presents a very clean looking scheme for your website.

Any light shade of a colour can be used instead of white but most commonly black for text, which represents the dark on white.
