Tabbed Navigation is perfect for large websites with many pages or small websites with specific sections.

When you have a large website with many pages, the toughest challenge is finding the perfect method of site navigation that still provides ease of use and doesn’t allow your visitors to get lost in a confusing maze of pages.

Tabbed navigation can be the most practical solution, which provides a visually pleasing solution to this problem. It is located permanently at the top of your website, so your site visitors can quickly and easily select different pages as required.

It also provides a perfect tool in allowing you to create subsections within the website; an example would be www.shaunmasterton.com this design allowed me to section off the website into the books that I had published and other specific areas I wished to show.

Sectioning off your website with tabbed navigation provides a clean and easy to use web experience for your visitors.

Tabbed Navigation is generally only used with a horizontal navigation tab bar that sits at the top of your website, it can be designed to be used vertically but horizontal is the most widely recognised style of use.
